The Magic Story - My Review

I'm one of the lazy bums (if you like) who would still go in search of the audio version of any book I'm reading or interested in reading. It's kinda me saving myself the stress of having to carry the books around, thereby saving them from the harsh conditions many books go through. Recently, I went in search of the audiobook of The Richest Man in Babylon. You see, I had read the book once, I even have the soft copy in PDF on my laptop, but there is just something about hearing a book being read to you. Though I couldn't find it, what I did find wasn't less rewarding. I got the dramatised version of it done by the Napoleon Hill Foundation motivation audio theatre. It came along with and dramatization of another book called The Magic Story. In the following paragraphs, I'm going to share some of the things I learnt from the dramatization, and of course, my interpretation of its content. I hope to pass along the wise of this aged writings!
Lesson#1
A person should not be blinded to whatever exists
in the opportunity which they have in hand.
At every given time, there's always an opportunity, so golden that if well explored, can result into a life transforming experience. Think about, what seemingly little opportunity for a better life have you been overlooking, because of a promise for one-time big future?
Remember that a thousand promise for the future counts as nothing when compared to the possession of a single piece of silver. Grow little by little, it lasts longer.
Never let go of the real/present opportunity to make small money because of a future promise to make bigger money.
Lesson#2
Dame Fortune is ever elusive and can only retained by strong purpose. Deal with her softly and she will forsake you for a stronger man.
Slowly but sure, success will follow your commitment to purpose. Persistence is key to wealth.
Lesson#3
Failure exists only in death; a person, being alive, has not yet failed. Always they may turn about and climb back along the same path they have descended. There may be a path that is less steep and another more adaptable to someone's condition. Find the path that best suits your state and stay on it!
Lesson#4
Seek comrade among  the industrious, for those who are idle will sap your energies from you.  Being around people that are not doing anything productive rubs off on you  eventually, so if you can't find industrious friends, stay by yourself!
Lesson#5
Maximise the potency  of your positive entity! (My  paraphrase) Every man has within himself two entities: the PLUS entity (his better self, inner  man, spirit man) and the MINUS entity (the ordinary self.) Whichever one of these if favoured by the flesh becomes dominant. When this happens, the other entity has to vacate the body. The difference in the impact each of these entities make over his life can never be overemphasised.
  While the PLUS entity is rosy with health, with a glowing fire and conscious power and force in his manners, the MINUS entity is unkempt, timid, fearful and full of doubt. PLUS entity looks on with direct clear eyes that are full of purpose, glowing with enthusiasm; dominant and determined face, steadfast and self-reliant.
  - The PLUS entity is physically and mentally  muscular, the MINUS is weak all round.
  - The PLUS owns everything, MINUS possess nothing  (not even the body in which it resides)
  - PLUS doesn't abide in uncleanness, MINUS is  filthy.
  - PLUS fears nothing and stops at nothing, MINUS  is cowardly and filled with nervousness
  - PLUS asks no privileges, but demands them. It dominates and cannot cringe; its requests are orders. Oppositions flee at its approach. MINUS, however is cowardly and timid, pitiful and selfish, rather ungrateful too.
Conclusion
These points you should hold onto:
  - Whatsoever you desire of good is yours. You have but to stretch forth your hand and take it!
  - Learn that the consciousness of positive power  within you is the possession of the all things attainable
  - Have no fear of any sort of shape, for fear  belongs to the MINUS entity
  - If you have a skill, apply it. The world and you must profit from it.
  -Make a constant companion of your PLUS entity.  If you heed his advice you cannot go wrong. It's my belief that he represents the counsel of God residing on your inside.
  - Go therefore and do that which is with you to  do. Every idea that comes to you has a potential to make good out of you, so maximise it.
  - Take no heed to jesters which will distract you.  You don't have to drag the crowd along. At some point in your walk towards greatness, you and your better self can be all the company you need to move on.
  - Ask of no one the permission to perform. The MINUS entity request favours, the PLUS entity grabs them.
  - Fortune waits upon your every footstep; seize  her, bind her, hold her, for she is yours and she belongs to you.
  - Start out now. Stretch out your hand and grasp the PLUS. Your PLUS entity is beside you now. Cleanse your brain and strengthen your will and your PLUS entity will take possession. It waits upon you to act.
  - Start today, start right now.
  - Know this; whichever entity is within you now,  the other hovers on the side. Beware, lest you let the evil enter even for a moment.
